Descripción de la clase

In this session we explore a profound teaching revealed by Rav Isaac Luria, the Ari: the Torah contains 600,000 verses, and each verse is the root source of one soul in the world,  meaning every person alive is literally rooted in, and responsible for revealing, a specific piece of biblical wisdom that only they can uncover. Every verse, every teaching, every story can be understood on four levels. The simple story (pshat), the hinted meaning (remez), the practical interpretation (drash), and the hidden secret (sod). Our task in life is to move beyond the surface and engage all four, because settling for the simple story alone leaves the deepest truth undiscovered.  The ideas we are naturally drawn to often reflect work we have already done in past lives, while the ideas that annoy us, that we resist, or don't understand are often exactly the areas calling us toward the growth we haven't yet completed, making our reactivity a map of our soul's unfinished work.

Acerca de este curso

Isaac Luria, who came to be known as The Ari (meaning ‘Lion' in Hebrew) because of his prodigious capacity for spiritual study and understanding, was a 16th century kabbalist who delved deeply into the mystical wonders of the Zohar. Commonly considered the father of contemporary Kabbalah, the Ari produced a historic commentary on the Zohar that removed many of its layers of complexity. His teachings created some of the most important kabbalistic ideas and practices used today, including the concept of tikkun, or correction of the soul. Join us for a consciousness-expanding course as we demystify the seminal writings of the Ari and connect with his righteous soul.
