Lesson Highlights

  • A life driven by wanting and fear tends to create imbalance
  • Giving works best when each person goes after the opportunity, not by obligation
  • Giving with a hidden agenda is really about expecting to get something back
  • Noticing what we expect in return after giving and sharing
  • Sometimes real giving is setting a boundary or facing discomfort
  • Acting from the heart dissolves all blockages

Lesson Description

In this Zohar lesson on the Torah portion Vayera, Eitan explains why a life led by wanting and fear tends to create imbalance, while giving creates space for things to heal. We learn to chase chances to give instead of waiting for them, and to notice the agenda behind our generosity. Sometimes setting boundaries or doing something uncomfortable brings balance and healing into our reality.
