Torah's portion Re'eh which translates to See, coincides with the birthday of Rav Berg. This week's portion centers on a single and life altering practice: learning to truly see the presence of the Light in everyone and in every situation painful or joyful. Kabbalah reveals that being able to see the Light in all is a powerful opportunity to draw closer to the Creator, which is the real definition of a blessing. Eitan shares that our instinctive, reactive perception shows us only the external layer of life, while the deeper true beneath is that everything, even hardship, carries concealed Light meant to strengthen our trust and certainty. The path to receive real growth is pausing before reacting, resisting the pull of instant judgment or instant relief. As we move towards Rosh Hashanah, this practice should be daily by beginning each morning asking the Light for the strength to see clearly, and returning to that intention every time life throws us off.
Written 2,000 years ago by Rav Shimon Bar Yochai, the Zohar explains all of the secrets of the Bible, the Universe and every aspect of life. The Zohar class is a weekly journey to understand the energy and challenges that will confront us during the week and how we can elevate our consciousness to prevent chaos from occurring in our lives.
