True sustenance does not come from possessions, approval, or control
Sustenance and fulfillment come from connection to the Creator's words and presence

The five restrictions are a sign of liberation
Refraining from food, drink, washing, leather shoes, and intimacy for 25 hours strips away physical dependency
Correction and elevation happen through words
Yom Kippur centers on prayer and praise rather than physical needs
The goal on Yom Kippur is to experience pure love and certainty
