Lesson Highlights

  • Yom Kippur stands outside creation untouched by judgment and delay
  • True sustenance does not come from possessions, approval, or control
  • Sustenance and fulfillment come from connection to the Creator's words and presence
  • Releasing the limiting beliefs and self-doubt accumulated
  • The five restrictions are a sign of liberation
  • Refraining from food, drink, washing, leather shoes, and intimacy for 25 hours strips away physical dependency
  • Correction and elevation happen through words
  • Yom Kippur centers on prayer and praise rather than physical needs
  • The goal on Yom Kippur is to experience pure love and certainty

Reflection:
Ask yourself where you have settled for less, and where love — for yourself, for others, for the Creator — has faded, so that on this day, it can be fully restored and carried forward into the year ahead.

Lesson Description

Kabbalah reveals the real meaning of Yom Kippur as a day woven into creation when the Creator's Light comes to us completely unfiltered. Yosef explains that on Yom Kippur we return to Binah consciousness, the energy of unconditional love and certainty. Through the five restrictions on Yom Kippur, we could release the limiting beliefs from our reality.
