Topic: Who's in Charge? The Power of Self-Control
This class teaches children about addiction in a simple and age-appropriate way by focusing on the question, “Who is in charge—you, or the thing you want?” Children learn the difference between enjoying something and feeling controlled by it, using relatable examples such as screens, video games, sweets, and other everyday wants. The class explains how our brain can keep asking for “more,” while teaching children that self-control is like a muscle that becomes stronger with practice. Most importantly, children learn to recognize when a habit may be taking too much control, how to pause and make their own choices, and that asking a trusted adult for help is a sign of strength.
Ages 4–16, divided into two groups
