Have you ever felt like you’re going through the motions of your spiritual work, but it’s not really feeding your soul the way it used to? When things start to feel stale or your growth feels stunted, it’s a sign that it’s time to create change. Change is a vital part of our spiritual journey. We’re meant to continually transform, exploring new areas and pushing past old limitations.

Here are 4 tips to reignite your connection and fuel your spiritual journey:

1. Step outside your comfort zone and try something new.

Often, people think their life’s purpose shows up only in the moments that feel good, when things are flowing and they’re succeeding. And while those moments are beautiful and important, they’re not the whole picture. The truth is, the amount of growth, Light, and blessings we experience in any area of life is directly tied to the amount of effort we put in and how much we push ourselves outside of what is comfortable.

Take sharing, for instance. We know sharing is an inherently positive action, but there is a difference between sharing when it feels easy and sharing when it challenges us. Sharing becomes transformational when we give to someone that we don’t get along with or in ways that are inconvenient for us. It might feel uncomfortable or even go against our instincts, but that’s exactly why it holds the most potential to change us.

Growth doesn’t happen in our comfort zone - it lives just beyond it. Whether it’s your relationship, your job, or any meaningful pursuit, it’s not just about showing up- it’s about how deeply you’re pushing yourself outside what is familiar. It’s in the moments of discomfort, challenge, and even uncertainty where we start to uncover who we’re really meant to be.

Do something new today that you didn’t do yesterday. Or do something differently. Challenge yourself. That dedication to newness keeps our spiritual paths from becoming stale and helps us tap into our limitless potential.

2. Embrace struggle as a sign you’re making progress.

Some days we feel super inspired, creative, and driven- but then life throws a curveball at us. We get an annoying phone call, the power goes out, or we get stuck in unexpected traffic. Suddenly, we find ourselves irritated, distracted, and out of the flow. But these interruptions aren’t really obstacles in our spiritual path. In fact, they are a beautiful and necessary part of the journey.

The Universe doesn’t need us to follow the same course as everyone else. We’re each here to create our own, unique path. Your special Light is revealed by carving a new way forward through your actions, words, and choices. When you’re forging new ground, it makes sense that things would be difficult at times. You’re walking an untrodden path, and that’s what makes it meaningful.

We don’t need to have all the answers or understand exactly why we’re going through something for it to be transformational. The power lies in surrendering to the experience itself. The appearance of struggle is often the greatest sign that you’re making real progress. No one who’s ever done something important has done it without any resistance. The next time life feels inconvenient or frustrating, remember this is a call from the Universe that you are moving towards your next level. Embrace that call and push forward with certainty.

3. Go to battle with your ego to make space for blessings.

Many people turn to spirituality seeking calmness and clarity. And while there’s nothing wrong with that goal, the deeper truth is that spirituality isn’t just about feeling peaceful. It’s about doing the inner work that transforms us. A key part of that work is battling with our ego every day.

Going to battle with our ego means fighting against our selfish impulses, choosing growth over comfort, and pushing back against the parts of us that want to stay small or reactive. Our ego wants us to always be comfortable, never challenging or pushing us in meaningful ways. But when we feed the ego, we stop growing, and so our spiritual work loses its momentum.

Ask yourself, “How am I going to proactively choose to battle my selfishness and my ego today?” When we do this consistently and intentionally, we make room for Light, inspiration, and abundance to enter our lives.

Being uncomfortable, facing struggles, and waging an inner battle can sound like negative things we want to avoid. But in truth, they aren’t just inevitable- they are essential and beautiful parts of our spiritual journey. When we embrace discomfort and lean into the struggle, we open the door to transformation. This is how we create the sense of newness that keeps our spiritual path alive and thriving, propelling us towards greater and greater growth, fulfillment, and blessings.
