“This week, the week prior to the birthday of humanity, we stand before the coming year and see the multiple paths that lie ahead. The Universe is asking that we choose our direction and spiritual path. It asks that we take an active role in deciding our destinies for ourselves. While it is true that we are always given the free will to follow any path we wish, this week the Creator is whispering in our ears and our hearts…”
~ Karen Berg on the portion of Nitzavim
Here we are, one week before Rosh Hashanah. What a powerful week! It is the pinnacle of all the internal work we’ve been doing. This week, we have the opportunity to bring together all our inner realizations and all that we desire to transform.
The energy of Virgo shows up strongly with Mercury right by the Sun in Virgo. We also have the South Node in Virgo, which is unique for this year's soul tikkune. This combination clearly prompts us to leave all judgment behind. Even though the energy of flow and acceptance might be challenging this week, the effort should be in this direction. Accept yourself—mistakes, flaws, imperfections, and all! See how perfectly everything is designed to help you in your spiritual process and in leading you to your next level of transformation.
Since Mercury is ending its cycle in Virgo and moving to Libra on Thursday, take advantage of its last degrees in Virgo by working on acceptance and tolerance for any imperfections. As Mercury moves into Libra, it also forms a supportive aspect with Pluto and Uranus (both also in air signs). In astrology, this is called a great trine, signaling a major opportunity to connect with others, to shift into the energy of unity with others, and to raise our care and involvement in what’s happening around us (including our larger community and friends). It is a time to unite, to engage, and to step up.
Another powerful cosmic event this week is the opposition between Chiron in Aries and Mars in Libra. This opposition holds the balance between how much we give to ourselves (self-care, self-expression, etc.) and how much we give or consider others. On one hand, we need to speak up for ourselves and be true to what we want and feel. But on the other hand, we want to be considerate, thoughtful, kind, and sensitive to what others need and what we can do to support them.
Whenever we witness an opposition (two planets exactly opposing each other), we are called to restrict, to pause, and to act from our souls, so that we don’t fully forget about ourselves and, in doing so, be insensitive or inconsiderate of others. Seeking and finding this balance is the key to success with this aspect. Hold space for others, and hold space for yourself as well.
Let’s make this week an unforgettable one—a week where all our spiritual work in the last month (the month of Virgo) truly elevates us and brings miracles, wonders, health, and success in the upcoming year.
