Welcome to the New Moon of the month of Virgo, also known as the Month of Introspection. That introspective energy gives Virgo the power to see the small details and look within. Think: great proofreading skills! Virgos know exactly what to do to be efficient and useful. In fact, they are actually very afraid of not being useful!

Because of Virgos' amazing ability to hone in on specifics and fix issues, they often forget to look at the big picture and appreciate the process of life. One of the most important things for Virgos (and for all of us this month) is to see: the perfection in the imperfection, the Light, and how the Creator is in every small detail and process in the universe.

We start the month with Saturn in retrograde, on the border between Aries and Pisces. Saturn is the lord of karma, and it shows us the journey of the soul. The Book of Formation, written by Abraham the Patriarch 4000 years ago, says that Saturn is in charge of all the delays in destruction because it represents the emanation of Mercy (or Chesed) from the Tree of Life. The universe contains many details, which we can think of as ingredients or parts of the whole, and Chesed is about the wholeness and unity of these many small parts.

The Book of Formation says that Saturn does not care about physicality. It cares about spirituality. Saturn does not care if we have a car, but rather how we use it—whether we are truly putting our soul into our actions, appreciating it, and treating it like something the Creator sent us. The Book of Formation says that when a person understands the message that Saturn gives (via their own personal astrology chart), then Saturn helps that person to elevate.

Saturn in Pisces (the sign opposing Virgo) gives us the ability to see how truthful we are to the journey of our souls. Meaning, we are more likely to see that others are mirrors showing us what we need to work on. The ways in which we harm others have a direct and negative impact on us. Virgo is the sign of setting boundaries, and sometimes that energy can lead us to set so many boundaries that we actually miss the important things. Pisces, on the other hand, is the sign that does not have boundaries, therefore giving us the ability to see the universe as a whole.

This month, we are going to experience our yearly eclipses because the North and the South Nodes are in Pisces-Virgo. The universe is telling us to bring all the details in our lives to the Creator and acknowledge that everything (whether an object, person, or situation) contains sparks of the Creator’s Light.

This month, be a little more mindful of how you consume food, as internal organs (including the digestive tract) are more sensitive at this time. Be careful of how you take in bad news or engage in conflicts. Don’t eat while scrolling! Consider engaging in cleansing activities or rituals to maintain balance, especially since the South Node is also in Virgo (the South Node represents where we have sensitivity and where we are losing energy).

Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication. Because of that ability to see the small details, Virgo can sometimes be prone to evil speech or speaking negatively about situations or people, which lowers the frequency and disconnects us from the Creator. According to Kabbalah, words create worlds, and every word that comes from our mouths creates frequency, or an angel, that either protects and elevates us or damages us. By using positive and inspirational words (not fake words of flattery), we can elevate our frequency and attract more blessings into our lives.

This month, Mercury is in Leo because of its retrograde process, and by September 2nd, it will move into the sign of Virgo, its place of exaltation. In Leo, Mercury needs to learn how to truly listen to others. On September 7th, we have a lunar eclipse, and Mercury will be part of it. On one side of the chart, we will have Mercury, the Sun, and the South Node in Virgo. On the other side of the chart, we’ll have the Moon and Saturn in Pisces. This axis teaches us about true spirituality.

Virgo is the sign of health. It will be helpful to do a lymphatic massage or brushing to aid in circulation. The water element is about storing information in the body, so we want to make sure that we are not holding onto pain, suffering, hate, or anything that creates illness.

The second eclipse will be a solar eclipse occurring on September 21st during the cosmic window known as Rosh Hashanah. It happens to give us a push to be the best version of ourselves in this year to come.

Venus, the planet of love and relationships, entered the sign of Leo during the New Moon in Leo. Venus is dramatic, loving, and emotional, but when in Leo, Venus is also connected to money. Cash burns in the pocket, so make sure you’re not wasting money you don’t have. Venus starts its journey in opposition to Pluto in Aquarius. On one hand, Venus tends to relax the sign it is in. However, this kind of opposition can bring stress when it comes to our relationship with money.

Work with the heart in a positive way—meaning, don’t store hatred or anger in your heart, and embrace change and the messages that the universe is sending you.

Tips for this Month:

  1. Watch how you speak and listen. Use the combination from the 72 Names of God to speak the right words and listen to your soul.
  2. Pay attention to your digestion, how you eat, what you eat, how well you chew your food, and your mood when you eat.
  3. Go through the process of introspection, which is the power that can open the heavens for blessings.
  4. Make plans and goals, and check that you are true to your soul. What would you do if nothing stopped you? Speaking your truth is actually a tool for becoming the best version of yourself.
  5. During the eclipse, meditate and be in full awareness.
