The month of Pisces is the last month of the astrological year. As such, it collects all the energy from the previous months of the year and funnels it into the New Year, the new cycle. From a kabbalistic point of view, it is connected to the emanation of Yesod from the Tree of Life. The function of Yesod, according to the kabbalists, is like a cement truck, taking the cement, funneling it, and pouring it onto the ground. Yesod collects the energy from the upper emanations and pours it into the world of Malchut, our world. Therefore, Pisces is a month full of wisdom.

This month holds a lunar and solar eclipse. As the month begins, we will experience a solar eclipse on February 17th. The Sun and the Moon will be at 28 degrees in Aquarius. As it is a New Moon eclipse, it is a very positive eclipse, prompting us to be more innovative, creative, and to go outside the box. This is also a very personal experience, because, of course, to know where the blessing is, we must look at the challenges we encounter.

The signs that experience this the most are Aquarians and Leos, but we all have an aspect of these signs somewhere in our charts. Those signs will experience it mostly in relationships, especially if your rising sign is one of those two.

On the Full Moon, we will experience a lunar eclipse. The Full Moon actually occurs on one of the most positive days of the year, a cosmic window in time that helps us to see the Light and the blessings in everything. The lunar eclipse is at the axis of Virgo and Pisces, so those two signs will be affected the most.

This New Moon of Pisces is actually a new cycle for the planet Saturn (2 1/2 years) and the planet Neptune (12 years). As we start the month, those two planets are in a conjunction that will be accurate in two weeks, but the conjunction has already started. The conjunction between those two planets affects countries, regimes, and borders, as well as science and medicine worldwide.

On a personal level, it is time to renegotiate our boundaries. What are we capable of holding at the moment? What are we attracting into our lives? What is our day-to-day consciousness and awareness? What is true today is different than what was true a month ago. So give yourself time to reflect.

On February 26th, Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Pisces. It will remain in retrograde for three weeks and go back to normal, full-functioning mode on April 9th. Mercury in Pisces works on a vibrational level. It is said that water does not have a voice, but this is not true! It just sounds different. Water is very intuitive, vulnerable, and understanding. At this time, pay extra attention to your computers, phones, transportation, and flights. Mercury in retrograde is not the best time to sign contracts. But of course, this varies depending on the situation. Ask your kabbalistic astrologer for guidance on how to use the energy of Mercury at this time.

Even though Pisces is a water sign, as Saturn and Neptune move to the sign of Aries, the chart becomes a combination of water and fire, which can be explosive. By using the water element correctly, we can take advantage of both elements. Although Mars, the planet of war, is still in Aquarius, an air sign, it will move to Pisces on March 3rd, which adds to the water element.

Mars is a planet that traditionally rules the signs of Aries and Scorpio. In Pisces, the desire of Mars shifts and becomes more spiritual. At this time, desire is not as strong as when Mars is in Aries. This helps us funnel our desires to spiritual places and connect with the soul in the body. Using the water element in the proper way means having empathy for people and using our intuition in a positive (not manipulative) way. In short, it means creating a connection between people on a soul level.

On March 7th, Venus, the planet of love and money, moves to Aries, where it is more assertive and less sensual. Venus in Aries is about conquering, and when it does conquer, it loses its interest. This can manifest in giving condensed energy to a relationship and then moving on. As it moves to Aries, it creates a conjunction with Neptune and then with Saturn. With Neptune, it can be very confusing: Who do I love? Who do I feel indifferent toward? But when it hits Saturn, it can help us take more responsibility for our love lives. Sometimes we see someone, and there is a spark (Venus with Neptune). Then a day later, we realize it is not what we desire (Venus and Saturn). So be careful not to make quick, clueless decisions that you’ll regret the next day.
