This year, the planets proclaim a shift in the universe and ask us to prepare our awareness and thoughts for greatness so we can hold all the blessings meant for us. One of the announcers of this shift is the planet Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, and the month we now enter.

On February 13th, Saturn will move from Pisces to Aries and will stay there until April of 2028. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and Aries is the first sign. Therefore, this move represents a new era. As such, Saturn now finishes a cycle, and together with Neptune (which also moves to Aries), it brings a global shift. It might sound like a big declaration, but it will affect each one of us on a personal level.

We can take this opportunity to upgrade ourselves. So, for the next two months, we have the opportunity to reflect and take our spiritual work seriously. This is reflected in our daily lives: the way we interact with our families, colleagues, friends, and even our attitude towards ourselves. Think of meditation as going to the gym; it helps us to be spiritually fit, but the test of true spirituality is in how we spend our daily lives.

Saturn is an interesting planet. In kabbalistic astrology, it is called the teacher of the zodiac because it is in charge of karma, the cause and effect in our lives. In modern astrology, Saturn is considered to be malefic. But in truth, it is here to help us. Imagine you are driving with the police behind you—you will think twice before accelerating. Saturn provides the same guidance.

In The Book of Formation, it states that Saturn can destroy and delay things because it does not care about the physical world. But it is also said to be in charge of the wisdom and the energy of personal enlightenment. When a person understands their spiritual work and is true to their soul, then Saturn permanently elevates them.

The angel in charge of the planet Saturn is Michael, the angel of mercy. Rav Berg explains that Saturn, therefore, represents mercy. You may wonder how this is possible, with Saturn being malefic, but there is a deep wisdom here. From a kabalistic point of view, the emanation of mercy is the seed level of our process. It is like a garment or a vessel that helps us contain the real blessings.

In our lives, Saturn is the one that helps us contain and maintain the Light of the Creator. Every time we commit an act of transformational sharing, tame our reactivity, or overcome challenges, we create more “Light of Mercy” in our lives. Now that Saturn prepares a “fresh start” for us, we can direct our awareness and intentions to our goals and the kinds of blessings we want to attract.

This month, all the way up to the New Moon of Aquarius, Saturn is in a good aspect with Uranus, giving us an opportunity to manifest. Saturn is an authoritative presence, making rules and keeping them. It can be a rigid and regulatory energy. On the other hand, Uranus is unpredictable and breaks everything. Even though this aspect can be experienced as hectic, it will give us great ideas and innovative ways to move forward.

Mars is actually in the sign of Capricorn this month, and it is exulted there. We can receive the energy of perseverance, so we can identify our desires and decide how to best spend our energy. Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, helps Mars in its job. All that is left for us to do is take advantage of that opportunity this month.

Venus moves from careless Sagittarius into thrifty Capricorn. Venus, the planet of love, pleasure, and money, moves on Christmas Day. Venus in Capricorn is a good consumer and would like to save money. This holiday season, make sure you don't spend money on something you will regret later.

Mercury will move from Sagittarius to Capricorn on January 2nd, and here the chart will have five planets in the earth element and three in water. The only air body will be Pluto in Aquarius, and there is no fire. Fire is the heart, the desire, and the passion. Although Capricorn has a strong drive, the earth and the water are more introverted. Capricorn can be prone to depression, so our job is to ignite the right passion and not let gravity swallow us. The earth element is the only element that does not move, and when we have too much earth energy, we risk getting stuck. Because Saturn rules the sign, Capricorns usually feel they are lacking. The moment Capricorns appreciate and awaken empathy, nothing can stand in their way. This month we are all under that effect.

It is a great month to move forward and plan ahead, but the illusion of sadness can also affect us. Water and earth are two forces that pull inward. Do something fun! Go dancing, spend time with friends, or volunteer. Do not drown in sorrows or feelings of emptiness. All you need to do is see the perfection within.
