“Most of the time, when we pray, we ask for health, sustenance, or other such blessings. Maybe we pray that the deal we are working on manifests or that we’ll get the phone call we’ve been waiting for, the answer we’ve been seeking, or the miracle we think that we need. But how often do we pray for a closer connection to the Creator?... It’s perfectly okay to pray for the things we want and need, but what we learn this week is that the most powerful prayer of all is to ask for closeness. After all, to be close to God would incorporate any of the other blessings we might seek.”
~ Karen Berg on the portion of Va’etchanan
This week, Mercury ends its summer retrograde season in the sign of Cancer. As Mercury gets ready to move direct, it forms a challenging aspect (square) with Saturn. Though difficult, this aspect might be just what we all need to encourage and push us towards the powerful, elevated consciousness that is available this week.
Think about this: Where can we reveal more Light—in an empty vessel or a full one? When we are satisfied and full, there is no room for more. We are content. When we are down, feeling empty, questioning, or struggling, we create space for answers and clarity. Those spaces allow us to elevate, to move higher in our spiritual development.
When Mercury forms a challenging aspect with Saturn, we can feel a bit lost, unclear in our direction, and confused about how to proceed in our lives. This is a time when we may feel stifled by doubt. Since Mercury is just ending its retrograde period, it is important to pause and practice patience. It’s time to reflect, take advantage of this week’s unique energy, and pray for closeness with the Creator.
This is not the time to ask for solutions or resolutions in earthly matters. Grow your desire to get closer to the Creator, so everything you want to experience will be revealed in your life with divine timing. Ask to see how the Divine’s hand is present in everything, everywhere, right now in your life.
