As we approach the conjunction of the decade—Saturn-Neptune in February 2026—I would like to take a moment to talk about Saturn’s movement into the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries. A very long story is coming to an end, and a new one is ready to begin.
Saturn is the planet of karma, a concept that, in the adult world, actions have consequences. For the next 29-year Saturn cycle through the signs, we will be pushed to change our expectations of how we’re supposed to live and behave. This is a time to start anew with a clean slate, free from the entanglements of old thoughts and patterns.
We are now invited to leave the past behind and build a life that reflects what’s meaningful to us. This is a unique threshold moment: We are moving from Pisces (where Saturn was for the last three years) to zero degrees in Aries (the first sign of the Zodiac, a fire sign that initiates the wheel). With Saturn’s departure from Pisces and movement into Aries, something major is shifting in the universe. This astrological transition marks the emergence of a new identity or energy that has been brewing inside us and is now ready to take form in Aries.
How does Saturn express itself in Aries? Saturn, the planet of time, discipline, and karma, does not necessarily feel cozy in the sign of speed and action. When Saturn enters Aries, it teaches you how to improve endurance and efficiency, so later you can go faster and farther. Similarly, Saturn in Aries is here to redefine what true progress looks like. The goal is not to tame the lion, but to help the lion roar with greater fortitude.
