“As we approach Simchat Torah, we come to the end of a beautiful and awe-inspiring process. Each and every step masterfully designed and prepared for us so that we can grow closer to ourselves and find our way back to the Creator… Now, before the windows close, we have a moment to look back and choose for ourselves the path we want to take as the verdicts are sealed.”
~ Karen Berg on Simchat Torah
This week acts as a powerful spiritual bridge as we conclude the 21-day window of our powerful holiday season, which leads us to the beginning of the kabbalistic year. It’s a time to finish things up and inject extra spiritual effort in our actions right before the new beginning. As Karen Berg says about the power of this holiday and the week leading up to it, “It is as if God is saying, ‘Now that I have put all the pieces in place perfectly for you, I leave the choice to you.’ It is with our choice, with our consciousness and our actions on Simchat Torah that we accept the spiritual work and turn on the Light.” The cosmos always supports us. Even when it presents challenging aspects, it is here to help us overcome, endure, and grow.
The Sun just entered the sign of Libra a few days ago, and this week it forms a powerful and positive aspect with Uranus. Uranus and the Sun guide us to step into our power and not shy away from our unique gifts and abilities. Uranus is always the encouraging planet for change—no calculation, no fear, only the bravery to pursue your unique and sometimes “unexpected” path. This aspect leads into the New Year and supports us as we step into true joy. It’s an opportunity to experience a real connection to the unique aspects of our souls and not care too much what others think or expect of us.
This week, we also witness a challenging aspect between Mercury (Mercury moves into the sign of Scorpio on Tuesday) and Mars in Leo. This aspect can raise the voice of our aggressions, ego, and negative thinking. The secret is to hold on to the practice of restriction and appreciation. Focus on the good, choose human dignity, and seek to create harmony and connection with others rather than disconnection. After all, this week and this upcoming Shabbat are about happiness, joy, connection, and unity. Hold on to this consciousness and don’t allow your ego to take the driver’s seat.
