On August 31, we experience the third trine between Jupiter and Saturn (Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries), which will last until 2027. It’s a 20-year cycle from one aspect to the next, repeating within the same element for roughly 200 years. Currently, we are situated in a move to the trine phase (from late 2025 to 2027).
Both Jupiter and Saturn are guardians of ethics and integrity—Jupiter for religious and spiritual realms, and Saturn for the rule of law and structure. Together, they operate on both human and spiritual levels; think: legal affairs and legislation, as well as spiritual laws of karma. Jupiter and Saturn are known to be opposites in their influence: expansion versus contraction, indulgence versus discipline, or will-power versus conformity.
We all live by Jupiter and Saturn’s guidance, as they represent our teachers, mentors, and spiritual leaders. When a new cycle of Jupiter and Saturn aligns, the whole year brings significant changes in leadership. On a personal level, we can experience milestones in our lives, whether they relate to family, personal development, or vocation. On a global level, new events may occur, leading to a change of leadership.
Jupiter and Saturn aspects are a recurring test of integrity that can challenge our convictions, role models, and institutions. Keep asking questions about what is right, what is true, and who we can trust as role models. Stay curious about who to rely on justice and who stands on moral ground. The need to have our voices heard (Jupiter) and assert authority (Saturn) can either clash or work in unity. We will need to ask ourselves whether we are rushing to conclusions or need to reconsider our ways of thinking. This fire trine inspires newness, and that may entail breaking away from the past.
