The energy of this week is marked by two important planetary shifts and one of the most significant astrological events of the year: the total solar eclipse in Leo at 20 degrees, occurring on August 12th.

Mercury enters Leo on August 9th, joining the Sun and Jupiter in this sign. This transit enhances creativity, confidence in communicating our ideas, and the desire to express our truth more clearly. Conversations take on a more passionate, inspiring, and direct tone. It is an excellent time to teach, present projects, and express what has long remained unspoken.

Two days later, on August 11th, Mars leaves Gemini and enters Cancer. This shift represents an important change in how we use our energy. After weeks of mental activity, our actions will now be much more influenced by our emotions, our home, our family, and the need to feel safe before acting.

However, the undeniable highlight of the week is the total solar eclipse in Leo. From a broader perspective, a solar eclipse represents a moment when the light of the Sun is temporarily obscured. Symbolically, this means that for a period of time, we do not have full access to the qualities of the sign where the eclipse occurs. In this case, Leo themes—confidence, leadership, creativity, self-expression, recognition, and the ability to shine—may feel eclipsed or undergo a process of review.

The energy of an eclipse is not only felt on the day it occurs. Its influence usually extends for approximately six months, manifesting both before and after the event. This is a period that marks important changes and often compels us to observe what needs to be transformed. People who have personal planets or important points near 20 degrees of Leo may feel this eclipse more intensely, experiencing significant changes in the life areas represented by that point in their natal chart.

From an elemental perspective, the sky continues to show a predominance of fire and air. With Mercury entering Leo, the fire element gains even more strength, while Mars leaves air to enter water. At the same time, we still have no planets in Earth signs, reminding us of the importance of staying grounded and not being carried away solely by enthusiasm or emotions.

This is a week to act with more humility instead of seeking the spotlight. When Leo's energy is eclipsed, the universe invites us to discover that true leadership does not arise from the need to be seen, but from the ability to maintain our Light even when external recognition disappears.
