The Adventure of a Lifetime
This is the first New Moon of the kabbalistic calendar, making it, perhaps, the most important New Moon of the year. Some significant chapters in your life are coming to an end, and massive new chapters are about to begin. In addition, it would have been Karen Berg’s birthday.
This New Moon of Scorpio is conjunct with Mars in Libra, and this helps us to take initiative with what we want to get started with now. After the high holidays and with a renewed consciousness, we are starting this New Year with a completely clean slate. This New Moon in Scorpio is supportive and will give us the chance to regroup and rebound. This is the time of the year when all of us get to experience the energy of Scorpio.
The modern ruler of the New Moon, Pluto, is stationary retrograde. This is an extremely important transit, which suggests that the upcoming lunar cycle is significant and will bring events that will change our lives profoundly. Pluto is the most intense planet out there. It is like a pressure cooker or a volcano waiting to erupt. Since it's normal to resist the dramatic changes that Pluto compels, Pluto stationary retrograde catalyzes an inner process of realigning ourselves with the universe (which is right on time after the high holidays!) and reorienting the deep shifts that have been taking place since September. With Pluto, you can bet there is A LOT going on!
Scorpio is a fixed water sign. Water is fluid by definition, not fixed. It flows, joins other streams, and seeks unity. Scorpio’s waters are different, however. Since Scorpio is a fixed sign, its waters are vast. Like the expression, “Still waters run deep,” Scorpio’s focus goes deeply within. Scorpio gets to the bottom of things, leaving no stone unturned.
Scorpio is the opposite of Taurus. If Taurus is what we achieve as the result of our own efforts (that’s why Taurus is connected to money and finances), Scorpio brings clarity and finds hidden connections that no one else can see: unparalleled depth, clarity, strength, and resilience. That’s the energy of this month. Together with Pisces, Scorpio is the most healing sign of the zodiac. With Scorpio energy, you will learn the fine line in between when to fight and when to surrender.
The U.S. chart will continue to have political standoffs this fall as a transiting Pluto makes for strong aspects. AND in early 2022, the U.S. goes through a Pluto return, which happens once every 248 years! After Pluto returns, the world will never be the same again. (More to come about that!)
Mercury in Libra is now in retrograde and will also join Mars in confounding relationship dynamics. Mercury’s last period of retrograde motion in 2021 lasts from September 27th to October 17th, revealing deep and sensitive energies. Finally, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury all go stationary and direct within weeks in early October. This energy is all about healing. Yes, it’s been difficult, but we are ready to move on. We are now ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
