“Our portion this week is Behar. Behar refers to Mount Sinai, one of the smaller mountains of the world. It is on this mountain that the world received the great blessing and tool known as the Torah…If we view ourselves as large and in control of life, do we not then push the Creator out of it? Do we really want our hands to be the sole sustainer of our lives? Wouldn’t we prefer, rather, to have the Creator as our partner? In the last part of the week’s reading, the Creator reminds us, ‘Is there anything too hard for Me?’ Mount Sinai teaches us that it is in the moments we humble ourselves that we make room for the Creator and all His energy to be a part of our lives.”

– Karen Berg on the portion of Behar

This week offers us so many powerful opportunities to connect with the greatness of our souls, our ultimate potential, and our hidden talents, passions, and creativity. We start off with the Sun and Uranus “holding hands” in a great conjunction. These two bring each and every one of us the opportunity to step into our greatest individual gifts and powers. Those two planets highlight individuality and freedom, breaking from the norm, and being fully authentic. It requires bravery to follow our own rhythm. So, take advantage of this time when we all have support from the cosmos to revisit our hidden and true desires, especially the ones we fear will lead us to being judged. With this aspect, there is no room for fear or conformity. Be yourself. Fully.

All week long, we are also supported by a beautiful trine (a positive and supportive alignment) between Venus and Mars. This offers us the energy of balance, the awakening of our desires and passions, and support for following our hearts. This aspect is particularly good for romance, growth, connection, and expansion when it comes to relationships. When our hearts are open, we feel more balanced. We may also gain a connection to our creative side. If we keep our egos and selfish impulses in check, we can benefit tremendously from this positive aspect.

On Wednesday, May 21st, the Sun moves into the sign of Gemini, leading us into a new month where the energy of movement, change, fun, and curiosity takes the lead. What we should be careful of during this upcoming month is not jumping too quickly from one thing to another. As Rav Berg teaches us in his book “Kabbalistic Astrology,” the main goal for Geminis (and for all of us as soon as the Sun moves into Gemini) is to linger a little bit longer. If we want to gain deeper and more meaningful experiences this month that lead us to true spiritual growth, we need to learn to slow down and keep our commitments.
