Kabbalah teaches that everything in the universe has energy, including food. On Shabbat, we eat specially prepared food, such as challah (bread), so that we may use its energy to connect to the Light. The internal essence of bread is the force of receiving, meaning it draws energy. Join us for a fun and informative class on the spiritual significance of challah, how to prepare it and why it is a tool for drawing Light into our lives.
Join us for a special Challah Bake led by Lindsey Glantz and Sarah Sigaud.
Together, we’ll explore the Kabbalistic consciousness behind baking challah and learn how to prepare beautiful round challot for the upcoming High Holidays. We’ll also enjoy wine and refreshments as we connect and share this meaningful experience.
Thanks to a generous donor, this event is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis (suggested minimum contribution: $36, any amount welcome). During registration, you’ll have the opportunity to share names of loved ones you’d like us to pray for—when we prepare challah and perform the separation of the dough, there is a powerful opening to manifest blessings for ourselves and others.
This is more than a class—it’s a spiritual connection and an opportunity to tap into the great Light revealed in the sacred act of making challah. We hope you can join us!
